Sandra Mays is a designer and animal enthusiast living in Los Angeles. With over ten years of ad agency experience, Sandra’s impressive resume includes clients such as W Hotels, Marriott, Wyndham Resorts, Sheraton Hotels, Regent Hotels & Cruises, The Yachts of Seabourn, Porche, Bluestar Jets, McDonalds, MTV, Yahoo!, Lenovo, Toyota, Sprint, AT&T, Cingular and T-Mobile.
Known for her experimental yet simplistic approach, Sandra’s daring artistic attitude was formed at a young age by her inspiration to one-up the everyday ads she consumed. She obtained a bachelor of science in graphic design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and quickly achieved her dreams of working at an ad agency. In 2007 she accepted the Associate Creative Director position and became responsible for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises & the Yachts of Seabourn account. This led to traveling around the globe with the photography crew to art direct and capture the beauty of cruising. She moved to Los Angeles in 2009 and served as the Creative Director for Deluxe Entertainment, managing designers in different studios all over LA. While climbing the creative ranks, Sandra received multiple Addy Awards for her work on numerous brochures, consumer advertising and direct mail campaigns.
Growing up in both Switzerland and Mexico and speaking several languages yielded Sandra’s theory of versatility, which she explains as the ability to create graphics that everyone can understand. Sandra believes that a logo is essential to the heartbeat of a company as well as the company’s message to its audience.
When not designing, she can be found volunteering at animal sanctuaries, soaking up the sun alongside her skateboarding bulldog Blake or discovering the world with her daughter Cyan and her husband Justin Mays. Sandra fills her leisure with traveling, dancing and enjoying the company of good friends as her inspiration for art is fueled by her passion for life.
